who repros carlisle slicks

Are slicks on mac carts.Taller on rear tires.are frount tires 410.35.0-5 or are they same frount and back.and who sells them.

I am a newbie but from reading posts, I have learned that the Veterans will tell you to search for that info on previous posts.. Have learned this. Typically Fronts are 4.10x 3.00 x 5 (or 4 very hard tires to find)
Back 4.10 x 3.50 x 5 With the first number HEIGHT 4.10 ( a percentage relation to the width) The second number is the WIDTH and the third number is the wheel size. NO STICKY TIRES seems to be quite consistant. http://www.rearenginekarts.com/phpBB30/ ... f=1&t=2214#

The short answer to your question is, nobody. To my knowledge, there are no direct Carlisle repops, at least in 5". Most guys run Cheng Shins. They are available through American Power Sports. Same size, front and rear. Providing your rims are all the same width. As was stated no sticky tires. Not legal in VKA. Not a good idea in general.

Ching Shin has 5" wheel 2 1/2" wide tread #K5411. Sometimes you can find them with the old Carlisle Indian Head but there is a new "Tube Type" in a small circle on them.

Wide 6" rears were available from time to time but it was hit & miss & the construction was terrible.

Tom,
Can Summit Racing still get those tires from Carlisle? I had heard that Carlisle sold all the tire molds and was no longer making these tires. A few of us were trying to find out where the molds are now.

I have recently purchased 3 different sizes of these new Carlisle tires.
11x6.00x5
4.10x3.50x5
11x3.60x5

Here is my evaluation:
These are either labeled "Super Slick" or "NHS"

11x6.00x5 - These are labeled NHS and are very similar to the older super slick of the same size. They are tubeless and have heavier sidewalls nut the tread feels about the same, I can't measure the durometer but they feel similar to the older ones. I plan on using these on my Emmich Lightening next summer.

4.10x3.50x5 - These are also labeled NHS, are tubeless and are somewhat heavier than the Cheng Chens of the same size. These are tubeless also but I mounted them with tubes on the rear of my R1 with dual Mc20's and tried them at the track yesterday. I was very happy with the way the kart handled even in 50 degree weather. They hold better than the chengs and still have a very nice predictable drift quality. I plan on using these on all my karts with rears of this size. They are a much more substantial tire than the Chens.

11x3.60x5 = These are labeled Super Slick and are tubeless but are super heavy. They are very stiff and feel like hockey pucks, no give at all. I don't think I am going to use them on the fronts on the Emmick which is why I bought them. They are sort of like a solid tire. They might work but I am doubtful.

Some additional observations...
The Carlisle name font is different
The Super Slick logo is also different
There is no country of orgin written on any of the tires so I don't know where they are made.

Overall with exception of the 11x3.60's, I like the new tires. Carlisle seems to be trying to re-enter the vintage kart market. All the slicks are of the old design with square edges and pretty hard tread. In my opinion, these should be very safe tires for vintage karts.

i ran new style carlisle tires at avon ..bought them 3 days befor event ..worked perfect ..all 4 tires with shipping was less than a 100 bucks ..!!!

i need new tires for my kart and the fronts are 3.4/3.0-5 and the rears are 11*4*5 . would any of the ones on the sumit site work can i use the 11*6*5 on the rears i would like to put a little wider tires on it i was thinking of making a spacer to make the wheels wider.i have rupp turbines for wheels tahnks for the help
