Dave,
No tank, bent seat back, and notice how the pictures do not show the front end, dented pretty good would be my guess. Maybe 800 if the guy that bought it could do the work. I have pretty nice looking drivers that sell for 2500 as a roller and the body already looks good. My site has some new stuff including some great buyes on some karts from Ted Johnson (Bug, VanTec)

wow RON,
the guy on ebay is only 10 times too high.
i should send him a pix link to your site so he has an idea who he's competing with.
then he could see a perfect one too!!
the worst thing is all the other non vintage people who'll treat his price as gospel. :x

that is the same "preduction" guy who is always listing karts for 5-10X what they are worth, with shipping charges equally over priced. I have never seen this guy EVER sell a kart on ebay. He had something like a dart kart with dual WB580s listed for something like $25k once, LOL! He must have some motive for these listings, other than actually selling the items on ebay.

Yes, "Preduction" aka Theo VonHolstein is one of the more interesting characters circling the fringes of vintage karting. A couple years back be was trying to sell one of Ron Cubel's restorations for 25k. I believe it was a Hellcat, Theo had bought the kart (and it was a really sweet restoration)from the guy Ron sold it to. Anyway the asking price was $25k...The ad copy was a laugh riot characterized by outlandish hyperbole "Too Fast To Drive" etc. etc. Anyone that was actually involved in vintage karting would have seen right through the puffery. The seller was the butt of many comments the least offensive being the groups general consensus that he was a 'crack smoking moron'.

After much ridicule and laughter, Theo popped in on a discussion to say that the kart had be sold to someone 'in Japan' after being listed on Ebay periodically over the course of4-6 months. Smart money says it is still in his garage.

A couple months back when the Rathman first showed up for ($15k?) the brother of a friend of mine contacted him asking what was up with the kart. When the seller was identified as Theo Holstein, the brothers response was 'no way'. It turns out Theo is infamous in comic collecting world for an ad he placed back in the 70's (see attached) showing him reclined in a speedo with some killer Burt Reynolds mutton chops.

I was warned of this guy when I first got my hellcat. Was told about the riduculous price he was trying to ask for his hellcat on ebay but it was a pristine kart I guess.
