Just as well i took a second saw

Post by mcbob » Sat Nov 17, 2007 3:48 pm

Well fellas the Copperhead had it's first race yesterday at Buladelah Saw races ..... The saw really wasn't race ready in the true sense as i had only intended to take the saw to show a fellow racer and let him try the saw after the event as he was interested in buying a Copperhead engine for his new project.

Anyway my Mac 91b/1 gave up partying and since it would have made the day a wasted day i cranked the Copperhead up and decided to give it a run.
A quick tune on a brand new engine is not the way to really race so i didn't succeed in winning but it at least got some time in the wood and no doubt it will need more before the saw before the saw is running to it's best.

The saw was reasonably well balanced in the cut and my cuts stayed straight but the saw needs an auto oiler something i'm working on at the present time using an auto oiler from a Mac 125.

No movie as the only clip i have is not really good enough as it's a passing shot and doesn't show the saw doing all the cuts .............

I look forward to getting the Copperhead up to speed and properly sorted chain wise as well but for a first run i'm happy.

This may sound stupid but i'm sure i'm not the first in this parade.

I changed the plug on the 91b/1 and didn't pay enough attention to the fitting on the end of it and it had the wrong type result the plug lead fell off ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, bugger.

Are well there will be a next time i'm sure .................

Hey Bob-
What's up with the HUSKY T-SHIRT ?????? :o

The Mac/WB gods won't be happy about that. :) You had better ritually sacrifice that shirt in short order.
