Trailer

Post by Brian Thomas » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:04 pm

This is a general post.. We would like everyones input .

We bought a nice home built enclosed trailer for a very good price .
This is a small Trailer 48" x 44" x 105"
We want to install a second level shelf so we can stack karts.
What we need to find out is , the height of different karts , at the steering wheel and at the seat back .
We want to be able to transport most any vintage kart stacked two high .
A width input would also be helpful .
This might be a good post for all ....

Thanks

WKA rules used to state 26" max height. Most karts are well under that in the 22" range. Give yourself some room so you don't mess up a steering wheel.

Brian,

The width should allow for 40 inches at the rear wheels. I think this used to be the maximum allowed. You can stagger the karts if you load them from the back. I alwaws use 24 inches for height.

I once had a two place snowmobile trailer that I built a double deck kart hauler on. It was about the size that you got. I loaded the karts from the side and got at least 4 karts and a lot of other stuff in it. Most of you know that I carry too much stuff to races. The only picture I have doesn't show the side with the doors.

48" width to accomodate the B/C-Opens was the norm for many years before things got really crazy... now they as wide as they are long...
