Hi guys
I have a clinton a500. The thing runs great, starts easy but when I get up to speed, it blubbers like the governor is coming on. It only runs up to about 15 mph, and it should go way faster than that. It still has the original vein and governor hookup. I was wondering if anybody sells a piece that will eliminate the governor, or has any info that can help me in this area.

Re: clinton a500
Kyle,
The first thing I would try is to adjust the high speed needle valve screw on the bottom of the carburetor bowl. You may just be running very rich.
The basic adjustment is 1 and 1/2 turns open.
- Turn the screw in ( righty tighty ) until it stops ( don't force it when it stops ).
- Now turn it counter clockwise ( lefty loosy ) 1 and 1/2 turns.
Send me your email address and I will send you the operation manual that describes the procedure with pictures.
