...like Rob said, its picture time, and don't bring out the big hammer yet. Generally with kart bearings and things mounted on shafts ... look for set screws or eccentric locking collar or taper lock hubs. You might have a hidden set screw that needs to be acessed through a hole in the hub, where you have to rotate the hub to align the hole with the set screw. Sometimes there is a type of non-apparent locking device as mentioned above, or there is a burr on the shaft form wear, or a mounting set screw, or... that the bearing won't slide over (that sometimes does require the Big Hammer).

Nooooo hammers.
usually when all else fails i clean the shaft and sand it lightly with 220.
any high spots will show up.
sometimes its only surface rust and sanding it lightly does the trick.
so we can see exactly what you mean post several closeups of the problem area.

You are right, I worded my response incorrectly, I meant to say that if the trouble spot on the shaft can't be cleaned up (because it can't be accessed, maybe its under the hub for instance), then a big hammer may be needed ... but certainly, yes try to clean up the high spot, burr, rust ... if you can get to it, before bringing out the hammer.

If the hammer is needed, try to only hammer on the bearing inner race ... if not, then the bearings will certainly need to be replaced after the "pound off".

Just a dumb thought It wouldn't be the brakes hanging up .... It is a stub axle .

Guys you have been kind to me and i will get into this some day but the transmission just wnet out in my car. so i also had to quit the job i had cause i now have no way to get there.
