West Bend 610's for sale

Post by ted johnson » Wed Mar 31, 2010 10:56 am

I have (3) iron bore 610's for sale as follows:
1) NOS Factory Chrysler/West Bend 9-port, only test run at factory. It still has the assembly lube in it. Should be disassembled and have new gaskets and seals installed, as it's been sitting many years. It comes with the factory McCulloch-style large reed and an HR gas carb. It comes stock with thin-ring piston, and point-style ignition. As new throughout. $550.00 FIRM plus actual shipping costs. I ran a different one of these at Fremont in '08, and they really run great. A JSJ (Vince Hughes) V-12 manifold base and reed cages are available only with purchase of the engine for $125.00 extra. You may have seen this engine on the display table at 2009's TBO.
2) Two Dave Bonbright Engine Masters fully modified 610's. Siamese ported, 9-ported, exhausts ported and corrected, single groove pistons with (2) .030 rings in the single groove. Latest cranks polished, latest heavy-duty rods, V-12 manifolds with top plates for Mikumi or Tilly HR carbs. External carb pulse. Carbs NOT included. Engines set up for alky. PVL pointless ignitions. They have less than 2-1/2 hours of total time, including break-in. Gold powder flywheel shrouds with Vince Hughes chrome cylinder shrouds. GEM polished chain guards, GEM headers. 10T Noram billet drum clutches. Dave Bonbright billet starter cups. Flywheel fins trimmed. ALL THE BEST!! These are fast and reliable, as well as beautiful. $550.00 each FIRM plus shipping. Workdays through April 9th: 505 845-2472; weekends and after April 9th: 505 869-6233. You can also PM me. Thanks. Thanks for the interest, fellas. The (3) 610's are spoken for, and they're all going to good homes! The two karts are still available, and are sweet rides! Ted

Hey what's this before and after stuff? You becoming a professional vintage karter? I hear it's a very high paying occupation.

Hey, Rob. It looks like my gig at Sandia will be over very soon. The engines and karts are dear to me, but I can't justify owning more than one rig. Looks like the engines are going to good people, and I hope to bring the Bandit back to Fremont this year. All depends on whether Charlie decides to go this year. Later! TJ

If not Cubel has a roof rack & your head's pretty aero so there won't be much drag from riding up there.

Heck, man, I'd rather have bugs in my teeth than squashed all over my purty white helmet! :D
