Re: WTB Magazines
Hey Rob-
Pre-Grid was a low-volume magazine put out by Hinsche Publications out of Long Beach, CA. back in '74 & '75. I don't know how many issues they ran, but I've got 8 or 9. As I remember, the magazine focused primarily on the So-Cal karting scene and some of the bigger national events. I believe the Hinsche's were involved with the Southern Californina Kart Club. Steve O'hara knows the whole history, so maybe he'll chime in with the full low-down. Very nicely done magazine with the look and feel of Modern Karting. Several issues came up on E-Bay last year, but I didn't bid on them as they were duplicates (DOOOHHHH, I am still kicking myself. I pretty sure O'hara got them?)
You can check out a full issue over at the Lost Enduro site: http://www.lostenduros.com/?page_id=32

Re: WTB Magazines
Dan's info on Pre-Grid is all correct except that I got outbid for those ebay offerings
Gary Hinsche published the magazine and it was in a class of its own for that era as far as quality but the project never grew to cover much beyond the local SoCal enduro scene.
If any turn up as a result of this thread maybe we can arrange to get some scanned and turned into digital versions. I haven't seen Gary in years but I am certain he would be delighted if he found out people cared about his product after all these years and would not care if they were copied.

Re: WTB Magazines
Hey Steve-
Bummer about the mags, I thought for sure you got them. I had plans to scan them in, but just haven't had the time to dedicate to the project. I did a couple of large catalogs (100 pages or so) for the archives and it took a good 8+ hours of just scanning.
