I Need Upholstery for a 1959 Bug Wasp - How about PICTURES?

I'm trying to get my '59 Bug Wasp ready for Barnesville in March.
I need some suggestions for someone that can supply upholstery for this thing.

Terry, I'm no expert on this, but I've had good luck talking to automotive restoration guys, and hot rod builders. Also, don't be affraid to talk to the ladies at the fabric shops.

Thanks. I'll be checking locally. I have a spare Bug i can leave with a shop. Should be fewer surprises if I can see the first cut.

Better check to see if both karts are the same. Snap locations ect...

I agree with Rob about the snaps. The manufacturing methods when the kart was built is not what you expect today.

I have the upholstering shop make the seat without the snaps. Then I put the snaps where the upholstery fits best. I leave the original holes in the tubing unless there are too many or they are messed up.

My upholstering gal sends me the snaps I need plus a few extra. They come in a kit that's available from her suppliers.

Absolutely - the snaps will be the last thing done. My Wasp is so old, they were still using screws with 'washers' under them instead of snaps.

I found a local shop that will tackle the project. Anybody have some pictures of original Bug Wasp upholstery?
