Well fellas here's a glimpse of my new Dual US820's i still have a bit to do but there's light at the end of the tunnel so to speak ... still waiting on the machine shop who are making the crank coupling. The rest of the basic bits have been ironed out, engine wise i still await the pistons but hopefully they will be here shortly i have the Copperhead rods and Dave Bonbright conrod bolts here i also have the other V-12 intake and Tillerton HR for the second engine here plus i have two decompressor heads so starting may be easier.
Both engines will be modded to Copperhead standards plenty of good old American Grunt.

As i said Rome wasn't built in a day neither will this saw as i have time on my side and i'm in no rush.

Some #40 with axe heads welded to it ??

More than likely 404 pitch or for softwoods 1/2" full chisel square ground, time and testing will tell.

I've always wondered about these high powered saws, what happens when the chain breaks or gets thrown? ... how dangerous is this? ...or basically, what are the basic rules to using one of these saws safely?

These saws are a handful at the best of times if the chain suffers a chain shot watch out but i'll be running a new heavy than normal chain if the chain derails well it just dangles there and we wear safety chaps.

Plus plenty of practice none of the open hotsaws run chainbreak and those that do don't work to much power to stop quickly thats why people like Stihl finished off the 090av and preferr to sell this model to third world countries were the locals don't matter, customer care ?

i can remember a time when my dad would top 200 foot fir trees with a Stihl .090. he ran a 48 inch bar with it...

I'd imagine he'd top them after he had fallen them 090's are heavy but this muther is a beast at around 24 kilos.
