Re: Hes Baaaaack
Someone reply to this guy before he gets some kind of a complex and ends up in therapy for the next 5 years. I hate to see him replying to himself on a forum. O.K., I'll do it! Welcome back Keith!!

Re: Hes Baaaaack
my karting history is not very interesting in the early 70's karts were all around me but I could not afford one however I built two of them
one was from hardware store threaded pipe the seat was a metal playground slide cut and bent it was powered by a jacobsen 2 1/2hp ... the second kart was made of wood with foot steering and hand brake and gas controls ... I am sure you are finding all this irrelivant to kart racing but the spirit and interest was there then and still is here today during this era I owned several minibikes then moved on to hot rods now as an adult I am sitting in a room filled with minibike gokart hot rod parts and projects I currently own two karts a 1960-61 capitol kart UMP special sold to me by Mike Clements this kartis very interesting and simular to the moss as the engines sit low and forward of the rear axle of coarse the seat is very forward and it has rack and pinion steering palmini brakes and seat back tank ... this kart is one of two known to still exsist today out of the original 100 made.. I had the privlage to talk to Don Umpberg the originator of this kart he had one but it was stolen many years ago. my other kart is a very modern chassis built by Mike Clements called Cheynne II that has a loop built into the frame to allow flex and a fith wheel that only makes contact in the turns this kart was his prototype test kart and somewhat different than the production model
.
am I a racer I guess not but I am very interesed in all forms of motorsports I guess I am more of a collector
Thanks for asking

Re: Hes Baaaaack
I made mounts for them (bolt on of course) and I did mount them on the kart but I didnt want to talk to much about these engines as they are not vintage but they do look great on the kart
