A Facebook friend Fernando Ribeiro is from Brazil and speaks and writes a little English. I use Bing and Google translators to communicate with Fernando. Along with his vintage karts from Brazil, he has a McCulloch R300 kart / Mc-92. He saw and enjoyed the short video I did of the 2013 TBO and some of the 2012 TBO clips. This is part of a FB string that follows and I thought you may enjoy reading the following. [within the brackets are inserts by me].
Scott Elkes: You will see Steve Suppa driving the yellow R1 McCulloch kart with dual Mc-20 engines toward the end of the 2013 TBO video. Folks attending literally come from all over the U.S.A. New York, California, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Arizona and even a few from Ohio. lol! https://vimeo.com/73545678

Fernando Ribeiro: Dear Scott Elkes, what enchants [amazes] me most in Vintage Kart American [R.E.A.R.s] are loads of really old cars [karts], white hair predominating in place and feel of Harmonia [harmony in] this video.
Congratulations to vintage men who know how to do this for so long.

Re: Brazilian Kart Friend
Scott,
Thanks for sharing this, always good to see international enjoyment of our hobby.
Do you know how Fernando acquired his kart ? Was it a new recent purchase imported from the states or did he find it in Brazil ?

Re: Brazilian Kart Friend
Sorry about the delay in response. The kart was purchased in the U.S., likely somewhere in the Northeast. His son--attending school in Mass. and also, a kart racer--shipped (exported) the kart to his dad in Brazil. I don't know if kart was bought restored or if Fernando restored it. I believe he has had the kart for for at least a couple of years.REAR wrote:Scott,
