Methanol at TBO
Chris' post about methanol made me want to ask: Is someone bringing methanol to TBO this year? Thanks. Ted

Re: Methanol at TBO
Steve, I talked to my Bud, Charlie, last night. He's having some shoulder work done in July. He's not sure yet if he'll be able to go to TBO. If he doesn't go, I won't either. Even if he does go, he won't be able to ride. If we DO go, I'll just bring the Nike/single 610, so I'll only need about three gallons. Of course, I will be able to mix that all at once, so you'd get your container back right away. I'm sure that I can find someone to take the extra two gallons! I will let you know as soon as I know myself! Thanks. Ted

Hey Ted,
Make sure you are there. You could send some fuel with Ron, he will be at my house next week. Just kidding, I will have fuel with me if you need some. Hope to see you there.
Later Mike

Hey, Mike! Ron's getting ready to come East. I hope you and he have a good visit! He's busy finishing up the Clintons for the dead axle Fox.
I still have every intention of coming to TBO. The logistics get really sticky if Charlie can't do the trip. We always meet in Washington, IL and go the rest of the way together. The mileage on the rental van gets out of hand if I have to drive the whole way. Besides, the trip would lose a LOT of it's ZING without Charlie! We'll do our very best to be there. There are a bunch of the gang that I'm looking forward to seeing!

Mike, does the methanol offer still stand at TBO this year? I'll only need about three gallons. If Charlie decides to run the Van Tech, it's still set up for gasoline. Shall I send a check now, or pay you at the track? I do thank you, Bud. We'll both be glad to see you! Ted

Hey, Steve. Thank you for the offer. I've been dealing with Mike on other matters, so if his offer still stands, I will take him up on it. If not, I'll be happy to deal with you! I know I won't use more than the three gallons. I doubt if I'll feel well enough to run all that much. Thanks again.
P.S. What's the Vise Grip deal about? Did you have to pull the old Dick Conner bit and use Vise Grips for a steering wheel? I remember Dick doing that in an enduro back in about '60. Ted

I've had a few black flags in my day, too! I was 5'-6"/125 pounds with Obama ears when I was 17. I got black flagged at Rockledge, Florida by a 6'+ flagman named Scotty Sherrets. I was so mad I attacked this giant guy. My Pop and friends had to hold me back! I got suspended from the track for three weeks. The embarassment of having to apologise to Scotty was worse than the suspension. TJ
