Re: Dart Chronology
I've never seen a Grand Prix without a wide hoop and a serial numbered Grand Prix badge. For sure it's no earlier than a 64. The two piece frame, front bumper, and uni-mounts are all indications of that. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being a late Brand X (?) but again, that's just a guess. The 5" front wheels are another curiosity because they were introduced in 1965.
Re: Dart Chronology
Grand A's had steel seats & aluminum front floor pans.
Another thing that changed is the seat sides. Some were solid, some had holes to get to the throttle linkage & some had the front lower corner nipped off.

Re: Dart Chronology
we purchased a used 64 gp. liked it so much, 2-brand new 65 gp's were added. one for b-limited and 1 for b-stock. the 64, we updated to 5 inch front wheels and the 2 short tie rods (64 came with 1 long, 1 short). b-stock, we added the 3rd bearing (too bad we didn't add h/a brakes). we all know the 65 upholstery was different. everything was and is interchangeable but the narrow hoop, i don't remember. have some good pics of the gp's and will find
