Re: rokon 820 for a kart
alan that's just not true!!
they have to be alive and breathing along with owning a kart so there!!!
Kevin,
cool,
cromwell isn't that far.
i work in hartford a bunch anyway.
the tri state track is in pomfret ct.
round track but good for test and tune at least.
in theory we don't really "race".
as vintage karters we run "exhibition laps"

if you wanna run a modified that's fine.
locally we don't have enough guys to care what you're running so no real engine rules.
so you can't be a cheater!!!
don't race sleds.
i'd be without a doghouse to live in even if i add another hobby.
do drink beer though, after not during track time.
send a p.m. for my contact info as i never give my number publicly.
if you like i'll help you build your kart though i prefer macs myself for engines.
might get a rash messin with 820's!!!

Re: rokon 820 for a kart
hi kevin,
i always have a few macs for sale.
problem is they're not cheap.
part of that is that i really don't want or need to sell them.
the other part is the ones i sell are nicely restored and completely rebuilt and ready to go.
everything is miked and checked and all the seals, gaskets and bearings are replaced.
the motors usually have a new piston or at least fresh rings so i need to ask a pretty penny.
if you want to see what's available send a p.m.
on your machine work we can chat for sure.
as a local dude we can play with my many chainsaw to kart motor projects.
mostly adding the missing ports which is way easier on a bridgeport.
i can also help you build a good kart motor from a saw core.
it's a fun project produces , fast motors and lots of bang for your buck.
also have you ever worked on harley motors machining wise?
as an example my shovel motor needs to have the heads recut to seal better.
anyway send a p.m. with your number i'll call you.
