i sent this to a couple of guys to be fair i'm posting here.

i am probably selling my mc1 motor.
if nothing else check out the motor i did a fair job of archiving it.

heres what i wrote.

i just bought a King kart and buying a trailer so i've spent my Barnsville money.
it is as complete a mc1 as i think exists and looks like it was never disassembled at least to me and Rick Chapman.

please send your best offer, i'll consider everyone's offer, i'm not playing games .
after accepting offers i will sell it directly if i think the offer reflects the rarity of this motor.
the highest offer will get the opportunity to buy.
i won't be going back and forth trying to raise the price.

i expect there will only be lowball style offers as that's the way it usually goes. :(
if that's the case i'll just let all of you know when i post it on esteal.
there will be a reserve and i won't end the auction early once i put it up.

wow i sound so official.
truth be told if the offers are low or silly i'll just probably keep it as i really like it for some reason.

After I picked up this engine for Dave, I pulled the IPL, from the REAR web site, and compared it to the IPL.
The only thing his engine has different than the IPL, from what I could see, is the carb.
The IPL list a Walbro float bowl carb vs the Tillotson his engine has.
In the February 1962, Karting World Magazine, there is a Product Test of this engine.
In the article, it tells about changes McCulloch offered for this engine and explains porting, etc.
Again, it shows the Walbro carb.
But, after some investigating, a couple West Coast Oldies buddies told me that racers had problems with these carbs and late in production McCulloch went to the Tillotson carb.
This is the real McCoy..
I have to tell you, I had a terrible time when I boxed it up to send it to Dave.
This is deffinately a VERY Rare piece.
