Hey, Terry. Of course, Dad had the twin Mc6's on the Scorpion that Charlie still has, and I had the factory Mc6 on my live axle converted Bug, and Lanny had the Mc6 that was converted from Dad's Mc5. Dad had that Mc5 on his VERY early Wasp. I remember that Charlie and I took the brand new Wasp/Mc5 over to Orlando to a night race, but Dad gave us strict instructions not to run it. While at that race, we saw our first Mc10. We were amazed at how fast it was box stock on gas! We sold maybe 20 Mc6's at the shop in '60, but Dad's Scorp was the only Scorpion we had. Lots of the Scorpions in California came with Mc6's, but many came with Mc10's, and in late '61, some came with Saetta V-11's. If you called Tom Pierson and talked real nice, you could get a PP58 or 82, but we never had either one down South. I imagine Tom would install any engine you wanted!

So is it allowed to discuss the foregin motors available back then?????? I have an almost complete Saetta V-11. Looking for a head then I could have it running. SInce the subject wandered off course, I noticed something that never made sense on a Saetta V-11. Its not a Saetta. Its a Parilla S-11 badged as Saetta for the American market. If it wasnt any more obvious upon disassembly, the internal parts are nearly identical to the newer BA-13. I also have a Saetta V-12 thats cherry. It has the die cast all aluminum shroud that fits so nicely arounde the head and cylinder. It is basically identical to the Saetta V-18 internally. There are no real similarities between the V-11 and V-12 other than spelling of the name.

Now if someone has an old worthless BA-13 head thats just taking up space. I could cut it down small enough to fit under the sheetmetal shroud of my Saetta V-11. Then it would be ready to start up.
