Re: Airheart Brake Bleeding

Good point, Bob! A baking pan beats a pool of red fluid on the shop floor. Even shoving the piston .025 into the caliper can move more fluid than you think! Ted

Re: MCP master cylinder "down arm"

Hi, Larry. I hope your Easter was a good one. I had CAD modeled the down arm for the Airheart for my buddy, Charlie Craibe. We sent them to Waterjet in Albuquerque to make some for him. That made me think I should make them for the MCP. I called Brad to ask him about it, and he told me that they wer...

MCP master cylinder "down arm"

MCP is making a "down arm" for its master cylinders. It means you can turn the master around so the fitting faces the front of the kart. If you clock the fitting on the master and caliper a little, you may now be able to get the master closer to the caliper. Call Brad at MCP. Ted http://www.mcpbrake...

Re: Airheart Brake Bleeding

Alan, it's more stable to use shims the shape of the caliper to ensure the outer half of the caliper can't rock. You can get brass sheet in various thicknesses from a hobby shop. It's easier to cut than steel sheet. Good luck with the feeler gauges. The trick worked on my old 175 caliper on my Bug B...

Re: Airheart Brake Bleeding

Alan, sometimes this works, sometimes not. Take a couple of .025 feeler gauges, loosen the caliper bolts and put the feelers between puck and disc. Tighten the bolts back down. Often, when you take the feelers back out, the disc will be free. Cheap to try! Of course, the best solution is to buy a Wi...

Re: Good Friday and A Happy Easter

Terry, I last had Jack with my old Kennedy Space Center buddy, Ken, back before I left Florida over twenty years ago. I haven't even had a beer since '05! If I come over, we can build an E-65! Ted

Re: looking for kart identification

Here's a pic of Ron Cubel's Caretta. You can get a good idea of how the mount attaches to the axle tube. I imagine the left wheel and sprocket/brake drum may be swapped over to the right side. You might have to flip the axle end for end. Sorry I couldn't find that Pro/Engineer drawing file. Ted

Re: looking for kart identification

Dan, I went thru all the Pro/E drawings on my old computer. I guess the axle is not there. Sorry. Ted
