I'm looking for a good-handling vintage rear engine kart without engine(s), something like a Dart Kart. I'd like to be able to put dual engines on it. I'm watching a Dart A-Bone on ebay, but I have a feeling the price is going to get too high.
I'm willing to start with something pretty bare and rough, though I'd like to avoid a large amount of frame straightening.
I've been offered a great deal on a McCulloch kart frame - possibly an R-1. The axle/engine assembly mounts to the frame rails with rubber lined steel clamps. What is the reputation of this kart in terms of handling?
