Avon Vintage Event Flier & Sign-Up form

Post by Scott Kneisel » Wed Mar 03, 2010 5:08 pm

Since I have received a couple questions regarding where the sign up sheet is located, I am attaching a copy here in this note. It is also located above in the "Event Calendar 2010" Posted by Jeff Campbell in the announcements section.

Hope this helps,
Scott

Scott,

never heard back from you did the crank arrive o.k.?
also did i mange to send the right one?
anyway,
you may think i'm nuts but i gotta ask.
if i decide to enter three classes will that be o.k.?
i'm hoping the gk1200 is old enough for historic but i can't recall what Russ said.
if it's old enough i'd run a mc10 in the historic class.
and i'll bring the bug sprint for the 100cc class.
otherwise i'll have to finish up the old rupp as it's a 59.

right now i'm sure to bring the cheetah (sidewinder) and the gk1200.
so i'll definitely sign up for two classes.
need to scratch up the dough.
probably next week or two.

Hi Dave,
Yes I got the crank yesterday, it looks right and it's nice too. I won't know for sure on the stroke until I measure it but by eye, it look like the correct 1/2". Thank you, now I have all the parts I need for this Mc10.

You can bring as many karts as you want, the extra $30 was put in for a 2nd class but as far as I am concerned, the $30 extra gets you as many additional classes as you want and the club gave me free reign on calling the shots on the event so I'm gonna say that is fair. Just let me know what classes you plan on.

As far as the historic class, we are not going to be sticklers on absolute correctness. I think the GK1200 is fine as long as the engine is before 1962. I think the intent is to have the guys with the old karts to be able to run with similar performance karts. We just don't want a Simplex with a WB580 or a Clinton running with an Mc101 on a Chappy if you get my drift. How does that sound? We do want to keep the karts as early as possible but is there much difference between a GK800 with an Mc10 and a 1200 with an Mc10? I don't know but probably not all that much. This isn't a race anyway, we just want to have fun out there.

OK, I'm out,
Scott
