Hi Dave,
Glad you will be there.
The track will be ours and we will be running practice by class both Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM - 5:00PM with plenty of track time for the 4 classes and maybe a couple demo race heats on Sunday. The club has offered to put us in their schedule for the race day on Sunday so we have to decide what we want to do. Ideas are welcome.

I will ask about the alcohol, does the track usually make this available or does one of the racers bring it and sell it? Since I don't run alky this is a detail I have overlooked, thank you for bringing that up, I will see what I can do.

Swap meet space will be avaliable, I expect it to be similar to TBO on that. There will also be a kart show Saturday afternoon and I hear that several of the local modern karters have vintage karts that have been hanging in their garages since the 60's and 70's untouched, just as they left them. These folks want to put their karts on display so we should have some un-restored originals. Very cool.

They are also going to set up a hospitality tent for us and we will have some kind of cookout or picnic after the kart show. A tent Gala similar to Adams.

PM me your email and I will send you a flier to post down your way.
Take care,
Scott

Scott,

Just saw the info. on the event today, Great News!! Used to race there in 1986-1989 timeframe, great track.

Our family may make the trip North for it.

One question: What about a Junior class? My sons (8 and 6 years) share a 1963 Bug Wasp with an 80cc West Bend "Rookie" engine? I'd like to bring my sidewinder and their kart also.

There is not an official Junior class scheduled but we will figure something out. In past vintage events I have been to the juniors ran along with everyone else. Since the Avon event will be structured practice by class, you sons would fit nicely in the historic kart class with the 80cc engine. You can ask them how they feel about running around the track with a bunch of old farts and if they are not comfortable with that we will make sure to get them some track time by themselves. If more juniors show up, we can have a separate class.
Glad you can come up, it should be a blast!!
Scott
