My new 101B
Well I got my 101B back from Bill Hermstead the other day. He rebuilt it for me and did a great job. We got some great parts from Hansen Dunken including an AEE Racing connecting rod. My friend who works for an aviation shop cleaned the Block, Head and Side cover with a plastic bead and then put the parts in aladyne to protect them. The bore is pretty standard though it was cut 4 thousands. Bill assembled the short block for me and I have the honors of finishing it. This is going on my Fox kart and I hope to be in Freemont with it this year.

Re: My new 101B
Glen,
I've never seen that particular rod but I'd pay close attention to the crank and needles... there was a real good reason McCulloch added the lube slot to the caps of the connecting rods in the kart racing engines. For vintage karting use where the motors are not run very hard for any length of time you'll probably be OK but that design would have been a problem back in the days of one hour enduro races on flat out tracks.

Re: My new 101B
Thanks
I was thinking about the solid cap and I was concerned about it as well. I wonder how the J rod that was being made was designed. if it had the slot at the bottom of the rod. I will do some research before running this Rod.
