When the rear engined karts were in their prime, was all of the organized racing on asphalt? Was any organized interest paid to racing on dirt ? If not,,, about what year(s) did dirt track racing become popular?

Thanks... Mark

They ran everywhere. Parking lots. Dirt oval's, dirt road courses, asphalt, street races and most anywhere they could. Some of the old books even have ice racing in some northern states. Some dirt tracks have been running from the beginning of karting and every year sense.
