Re: engine ID help
Lynn, As the cylinder saws it is a Sawyer, We ran one in a Micro Midget in 79 and 80. Engine is basically one half of a Konig 500 CC race boat motor. They were built in Bartelsville Ok by Bob Sawyer. Would outrun most everything except the Yamaha Twins of the time. Only real problem was the carb, I could never keep it in tune. A lot like the big Mac carbs, I never mastered them. Thats why I ran Open.

Are there any Micro Midget (vintage ?) websites ?
Re: engine ID help
Lynn. Might want to look into small boat engines also. We had a guy bring around some really trick stuff for boat racing that he needed custom stuff made for. It was state of the art, tricked out stuff that karting had nothing on.

Re: engine ID help
I was just trying to find a home for this beast where it would really be appreciated -- since it really does not fall into the vintage karting arena, I though perhaps it would be loved as vintage in the place it might have come from back in its day. Its quite a nice piece, it just doesn't fit for me.
