Re: Cool videos
The Rupp track always had a great turnout and there was usually lots of spectators.
The big building in the video was not the Rupp Mfg. Plant. , it was a non related stamping plant that was across the road.
The Rupp plant was a 100 yards or so West of the track kinda adjoining the track. It was on the other side of the pits , close enough that the Factory guys could ride out of the plant to the track and do their testing or whatever.
The original Rupp building was still there a few years ago , although the track was dug up and a Gorman/Rupp Pump Company distribution building is now covering the property where the track was.
To bad it had to go .....

Chris,
I have a lot of memories hanging on to that fence down there at Rupp and your right, at the big races it was standing room only.
I still remember saying to myself as a 9 year kid " some day I'm going to get me a kart".

Re: Cool videos
That does not look like the Bobby Allen in my 1960 KW magazines driving a twin Mac 10 powered Exterminator at Nassau?
Being a motorcycle guy I could not resist looking at the French Hill Climbs you tubes after the Rupp video, those guys have it going on!

Tom, I didn't feel like watching the whole video again, but the kart at the very end of the race is definitely Bobby's dual Mc10 Xterminator. I saw the kart a number of times back in the old days. TJ

Re: Cool videos
Hello Ted, I was referring to the very first kart driver in the second posted video with the pudding bowl helmet that looked a tad on the small side! He had a 3 man crew of throw backs from the Desert Rats of WWII. But in the last of the video, the finish/winner circle there is no doubt who that is..Bobby Allen. That's quite a brouhaha about 4:36 too!
