Oh no... here we go again!
McBob- The Adams thing is a VKA event and REAR and VKA ne'er the twain will meet if you know what I mean. Best to scope it out over at the VKA site. But your answer is no, it hasn't happened yet.

Hello All,
Thanks to everyone that attended our recent event at Adams. I had a blast!
Jeff's right on with the fantastic showing AND runnng of a lot of awesome karts.
Where else can you put your kart in the hands of Steve O'Hara for a test drive and tune!
And along with as much driving as one can possibly stand, and morning breakfast with distant new friends like Jeff Campbell and Lake Speed, how does one cope with being back in reality and going to work!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Especial, all my "local" chum's
who I didn't mention of course, but you know who you are. I'm glad you enjoyed the Zinfandel!
Oh, and McBoB, did you know your fellow countryman Graham Powles from
Numurkah - Victoria - Australia and a friend also came to Adams! I have his
tele if you would like to call him for a first hand report. I think he and Duffy hit it off pretty well.
Well, so long for now, already miss the smell of pre-mix.

Re: Adams .........................
The Bennets outdid themselves again this year. I cannot express enough thanks for the wonderful steak and chicken bar-b-que they put on for everyone Saturday evening after the races. They had all the trimmings, and even had drinks, beer, red and white wine, chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies.....what a perfect way to cap off a great weekend at the track. Bill Parum brough some red Zinfandel he made himself...seems this group of Vintage Karters are multi-talented!
We had the strap holding the pipe cradle break, allowing the Hartman blimp to drag around the track for a lap before Ernie black flagged us. Other than that, it was pretty uneventfull, and being our fourth year with the Dart, everything was pretty sorted out and trouble free, allowing us to focus mainly on driving, and helping others. Initially, the carb was starving for fuel, so we replaced the inlet needle and metering diaphragm, which cured the problem.
I finally figured out why the track felt a little weird, it was all the dirt being tranfered onto it from the infield jumps. It seems they now run Super Motard(super mo-turd!) bikes and they spread dirt into the asphalt, making the track a bit looser, especially the mini-Monza.
The twins were wild and wooley action: I have a video, and there are several spinouts, one time 3 guys collected each other in turn 7, and others lost it in the big Monza(turn 1).
I think the best race was senior sportsman's heat #1, where the field ran like a freight train for all the laps, and Mark Weaverling hung in there with the leaders driving his twin WB580 powered Percival Hellcat. I have this on video too, but I'm still working on getting it on a DVD and delivered to JeffCampbell for the site.
Another great item of interest was the Bug travelling museum! Faye and Tommy bring this every year, it's a must see. Their re-released Bug Sprint is ever so nice, with metalflake powdercoat, chromed seatback tank, and hydraulic disc brakes. I'm very tempted to buy one. Steve-O drove Bill Parums and was very happy with it, he commented to me that it felt better than my A-Bone.

Re: Adams .........................
Well McBob, one pair of Mcculloch 101s that got my attention were on a mini-bike that Mcculloch built for Bobs' son I was told.
I showed it to Jim Whitehead and told him that I had once put a Super Pro Mc-101 on a Taco mini bike for a few days. He said he'd put a B-Bomb on a Rupp mini bike and came to the same conclusion I did about the 101 being more than enough to bust your butt.
We both know what a pair of B-Bombs or 101s do on a kart so even two stock 101s on a mini bike would probably make me forget my name or maybe not remember to breath.
Here are some pictures of a Mcculloch 100cc Super Pro forged 8 port single ring piston for your hot saw. McTom [attachment=0]

Re: Adams .........................
Rich Carillo is a good friend of mine, he used to run the production down at the Hobie Hawk glider factory in Capo Beach, that was before he ran the night shift at his dad's factory. I met him flying gliders at Dana Point some 25 years ago...how time flies(pun intended).
