Help Identifying Kart

Ted you are probably right. that's the throttle cable pulled tight across the back. there were 1,000's of these made with the engine plate welded this way. since these were 3 h.p. 4 cycle engine & not B-Bombs these were sufficient for the kart. these were D-300 fun karts, the top of the line in their day.

Well, not good news about the kart starting off a a swayback, but I do have welding skills, so I will give Robert a call tomorrow and see what we can work out. I only live a couple of hours from Bennettsville, so I will probably pay him a visit in the not too distant future. As for finding Darts, around here on Clist there is really nothing. So if some of you can point me in the direction of where I can purchase please let me know. I do not want to deal on Ebay, just too shady.

Well, I have taken care of the frame, will be sandblasting and painting next. I think I will use this as a yard kart for the summer and then restore, but I do have some questions. Since this is a bare bone chassis, I need to know what size wheels/tires for the front and rear. As far as the rear axle setup, I will need everything. I know I want to have a live axle, but I do not know the length, diameter, brake setup, bearings, etc. I would appreciate any and all info you can help us with.
