The rubber coated one shown in your post were a later version -- the older ones had wood.
I may have to settle for the newer type but really prefer the period correct model if I could locate one -- it's going on a '67 lou Borreli Caretta that's in fantastic shape so I am really hoping someone will have the original type. Thanks for the shout out and if you have one of those newer type, I may have to get back with you if nothing appears..........> LH

Lynn, as a matter of fact, I had one of the wooden grip ones on Charlie's Scorpion when I first restored it back in '72. When Charlie bought it back from me in '88, the wheel was still on it, and hadn't been actually driven. It's JUST possible that when he re-restored the kart in '06, and added a new Covico wheel, he saved the butterfly. I'll call and ask him. Too late tonight, but I'll try him tomorrow. If he and the wife are on one of their frequent trips, it may take a day or two to get hold of him. It's a long shot, but it's worth trying! Ted

Lynn,

There's one that just started on Ebay. It is item # 261355390099 and from Swapmeetman. It looks ok and I'm sure it will clean up ok. Good luck.

There's even a better one that just started on EBay a few days ago and it is item # 141148398620.

Good Luck,

Oops, upon looking at that one a little closer, it may not be in better condition. You can decide.

Lynn, I have four or five of the older wood grip butterfly wheels. I will get pics off to you today.
Anyone else looking for one let me know and I will send pics to you as well.
