Here is a restored Rathmann Xterminator kart with fresh twin Mc 10 engines. A very rare and unique kart designed and built by the 1960 Indianapolis 500 Winner Jim Rathmann.

This kart is just like the one then 16 year old Bobby Allen drove to victory 50 years ago in the first Karting World Championship inn Nassau !

The engines are a matched pair of fresh McCulloch 10's. The engines have fresh pistons, bearings, seals and carb kits. These engines are readyto run but have not been started. They have direct drive sprockets like was used in the day. (The keys are taken out to make the kart easy to roll if desired) Also included is a pair of chromed Max Torque clutches if you really want to drive it.

Even the tires are correct NOS (New Old Stock) Carlisle 6” on rear and 4” on front. The original Hands wheels are in excellent shape. The unique steering rack also works very well.

The Steering wheel is a original as is the gas tank, engine swing mounts, pedals, brakes, nerf bars and front and rear bumper, etc. This kart has been in several shows and it always draws a crowd! The chassis is the original aluminum Monocoque and is in surprisingly nice condition! The anodizing is nice and shows very well and only has some minor scratches and imperfections. There is one small crack as seen by the right side nerf bar shown it the photos. The upholstery is in excellent condition.

This kart is very rare, and in very original condition in every way. Also included is an Original full page Black & White ad for the Rathmann Xterminator from a 1961 Hot Rod magazine.

We're making this wonderful museum quality kart available on eBay Item Id: 150609895638

There are just not too many nice ones like this left in existence. This is one of those rare last few Exterminator's!

I always thought Xtermanators came with Firestone tires since Rathmann raced on Firestones, not Carlisles?

How about the Xterminantor Concession Kart? I wonder how long one of those lasted before the seat back cracked?

They probably didn't sell all that many. I don't ever remember seeing them at any concession track in Central Florida.

These are the older version Carlisle tires that have the little "diamonds" around the sides.
They also have the yellow'ish dirctional arrows on them. So they are period correct.
I was only about 5 yrs old when they were built so I can't say for sure what they originally came with.
A.J. Watson who was the co-designer of the kart is going to autograph an original ad for me, so I'll ask him about the tires. But he's he's 83 yrs young so he might not be 100% sure.....
