Mc5 crank/Mc6 crank

Anyone interested in swapping a very clean Mc 6 crank for a very clean Mc 5 crank?

I have one of those odd ball motors stamped Mc 5 & 6 and the 5 has been stamped over with an X. The side cover and flywheel cover are Mc6 type but the crank is a Mc 5 version. To make things more confusing I have the coil with the long wire to reach across the head and the head is painted on the spark plug side but not painted on the side that would be exposed in a Mc 6 application so it would seem the motor was assembled at one time with the Mc5 type side cover and flywheel cover with no hole for the spark plug.
It would make more sense to assemble the little devil with a 6 crank since the block is marked 6 and I have a correct Mc 6 Tilly carb for it.
If someone needs a 5 crank and has a 6 to swap please drop me a note.

PS... I'm also looking for the sliding kill switch assembly that goes in the early flywheel cover... anyone?

Sliding klill swiches were in saws. Many cna be had for parts prices. $15-20.

i have lots of those kill switches you can have one.
you'll have to wait till i get back since next week is family vacation week and i die if i don't go this year.
send me a reminder also will get pix of that motor then too.

Thanks for offering the switch but I have one on the way already. Carl came to the rescue and offered one yesterday.
Also, forget I asked about the Mc 5 for Mc 6 crank swap.... I should have measured the crank I had before I posted the request. Turns out the crank I have is a 6 crank that someone marked as "5"...

I'm not surprised that there is an Mc6 crank in there. Most everyone changed them out when McCulloch offered the upgrade kit for the Mc5. I have only see one actual Mc5 crank and it is in my stock Mc5. Actually the stock crank isn't very good, small counterweights, I think it was a saw crank.

When I put together a stock Mc5 nowadays, I use an Mc49 crank which has the 1 3/8" stroke and larger counterweights. Much better crank.

Mc6 cranks are hard to come by also anymore. (Dave has a bunch though I hear tell) I am always looking for Mc6 cranks.

Looks like you already had one Steve!! Now you can build that Mc6.
