Ted,

I have 2 Palmini P-10 headers. They are both different styles; if the engine is standing straight up (plug on top) one goes straight back the the other goes straight up. I need a matched pair for my 59/60 Mak Kart dual Mc6 project.

Is there a catalog that shows what was available back then?

Sorry I couldn't help but maybe this will get others to look.

Hi, Dick. The P-16A is a shortie that comes straight out from the port, flares and is cut off square, parallel to the header mounting flange. The P-16 is similar, but is longer than the P-16A and curves upward toward the head. The end cut is on an angle. They were made to clear the Mc10 head shroud. They're much "skinnier" than an Azusa or GEM header. Thanks for looking! Ted

Ted,

I think that Cubel had to make one like you want for the Mak Kart that Ron Carbough owns. His kart is for sale on Cubel's site.

I suppose that we could have some made if a pattern was available or we could borrow one for a while.

Dick, the Mak Kart of Ron Carbaugh's as it shows on Ron Cubel's Xterminator site appears to have the G.E.M. headers that come straight back, flare vertically and have an angled end cut. They're only good on a vertically standing engine. I remember Pop having one on his Mc10 with the vertical G.E.M. engine mount on his '60 Wasp. The P-16/P-16A works well no matter the engine angle. I want one for a very special condition; that's the reason for the P-16/P-16A. I can make one from a G.E.M. flared header, like the one I modified for Charlie Craibe's Swoopster last TBO, but the only G.E.M. header I have is too nice to cut up :( ! Later. Ted
