Paint codes colors.....

Post by Gary Wlodarsky » Sun Nov 29, 2009 4:24 pm

Does anyone have a paint code for Go Power (gold)wheels or is it just find something close..???

How about a satin clear coat for items that have been glass beaded....

McCulloch paint types and code...Macs have always had that real ""heavy look""paint finish ..kinda like an old style enamel..but what about heat resistance...any ideas...(actually just for the shroud, bare block, chrome cover)

thanks

Gary

Here are a few suggestions on paint below, that others have posted previously on this forum. My experience is that you really don't need special high temp paint for Engine blocks. The Rust-Oleum Sunburst Yellow is widely used on Mac engines, it is not a special high temp paint, works best if you bake your freshly painted parts in the oven at low temp (150-200F) for a 1/2 hour to an hour (this hardens up the paint quickly, otherwise it can take days).

Go-Power gold: Dupli-Color Universal Gold DE1604

McCulloch Yellow:
- Rust-Oleum Sunburst Yellow (7747) - My Favorite
- AutoZone DE1642 yellow high temp engine enamel
- Engine yellow: Krylon DE1642 Daytona Yellow, 500 F
- Dupli-Color Engine Enamel in Daytona Yellow (#DE1642)

I talk a bit about the Rust-Oleum paint at the end of part 2....
