Mike,

I had one for sale at TBO. It belongs to my fab guy. He found it and then restored it to like new condition including a leak test after he filled all of the pin holes that are common. The price will be high but it's nicer than the ones I've seen on e-bay that go for as much as an engine costs. I guess when you look at it like that the price is fair. He wants $650 for the tank.

There's a dented original tank on ebay right now. It's already been bid up to over $500 and it will require a lot of work to repair. The high bidder must not have seen the one Dick is selling or they wouldn't be willing to pay so much for a tank that will cost more than Dick's once the repair costs are added in. If the buyer does his own work he'll save a little money at the expense of a lot of time. The seller is a not a karter. He's just a reseller who buys stuff cheap at So Cal swap meets and then goes for the big $$$ when selling to the vintage karters. He also sells stuff on Craigslist.

Mike, Michael is spot-on. I know Dick's fab guy, Joel Christians, and there is not a better guy in vintage karting for refurbishing tanks (or complete karts...). TJ
