Early 1960 GoKart 800 freshly restored with dual Mc-10 clones. Both engines are freshly rebuilt by Denny Turk with only about an hour, with most of that running slobbering rich and only a couple of laps with it leaned down a bit but still very rich. They both run great. The engines are stock except for reed manifolds with GoPower 6 petal reeds and new Tillotson HL-135A gas carbs. Both engines were freshly bored and have new 10 over thin ring pistons. The only real difference between these 10’s and “real” 10’s are the blocks. These have saw blocks that people often substituted back in the day for the 10 block because they were built with stronger materials than the kart block that was built to be cheap, not to last like the saws were. Though not period correct, but who wants direct drive, both have Horstman Rev-grip clutches with aftermarket super springs for higher engagement. Both drums are new 9T with one having new shoes and the other about ½ life shoes.
The kart is 95% original. The only thing that’s repop are the tires, engine mounts and seat. The brake is the very first Bendix sold with allen bolt hub instead of the taper lock. The brake works great. It likely came on the kart or was upgraded. The kart has matching Dyna sprocket hubs. The tank is the correct original Azusa tank in new condition. No dings and perfect inside. The upholstery is an accurate reproduction of a 1960 seat though the only “flaw” on the kart is the upholsterer put on too many snaps and they’ve been removed and the holes repaired, but if you look closely you can see the repaired areas, though they are very small. The steering is all original except I replaced all the ¼” rod ends with 5/16” ones. I also cotter keyed or safety wired all the steering, wheels and brakes which was not done on the original kart. Other than that, and the brake and throttle rods, all the hardware is original restored. Even the axle is the original axle which is in good shape considering its age. The frame was stripped and inspected for any signs of fatigue and then powder coated an orange-red which is very close to the original color. The pan was not replaced. There is pitting under the seat, but in general the pan was in very good shape and when I restore karts I like to keep all their original parts if at all possible. The wheels are the original early Azusa’s and all four are in great shape. Tires are new Vintage Speeds front and rear with only the hour that the whole kart has on it so there is virtually no wear on them.
BTW, it handles very well. It's obvious why these won so many races back in the day.
I’m asking $3800 for the kart and it will be available for pickup or I will be glad to ship it via Forward Air, or you want to make your own arrangements. If it needs to be shipped I’ll include a $150-$200 fully enclosed wood crate to ship it in. Shipping by Forward Air will probably be in the $150-$250 range depending on how far it’s going. If you’re not familiar with Forward Air they only ship between their terminals which are usually located near an airport in major US cities.
PM or e-mail for more pictures. Send your phone number if you’d like to talk about it.

SOLD. It's going to a new home still in Oregon so I'm happy I'll still get to see it at the local events.
