I'm setting up the front end on my '77 Hartman sprint kart. As I received the frame (pretty beat-up), caster is 11 degrees, king pin inclination is 13 degrees, and camber is +2 degrees on the right, +2.5 degrees on the left (+ camber meaning tops of wheels tilted outward).
The caster and k.p.i. numbers look reasonable to me, and even the 1/2 degree discrepancy in camber doesn't seem that bad, but I would have thought the camber should be negative, not positive.
Anyone know what the camber should be on this kart?
I'm re-building the spindles for front wheel brakes, so changing the camber while I'm at it is not a problem.

Phil,
How are you measuring a difference between caster and kingpin inclination?

I'm measuring caster, camber and k.p.i. with a very accurate digital protractor. First thing I do is set the kart level. I measure the caster and k.p.i. by putting the protractor directly against a long pin through the king pin hole. To measure the camber, I set the spindles so the stub axles are in line with each other, as seen from above, then use the protractor as a level, to check how out of level the stub axles are. The stub axle angle off horizontal, by definition, is the same as the camber.

Back to my original question - what is the correct camber for this kart?
