Well the need arose for a Pit Mini Bike this is something that should look quite trick at the Chainsaw races this Deltek is from the early 70's and was used at Oran Park in Sydney as a Pit Bike for one of the Motor Bike race teams.
The yukky orange paint is now gone as the complete Mini has been blasted and i get her back on this coming Tuesday so hopefully i'll get her painted in Mac Colours, the mini came with a sidecar and it is powered by a gut wrenching Victa of 125cc.
I had an email from Alan Savins as regards the attending of a Vintage Kart meet at Mt Sugarloaf near Newcastle NSW on the 25 and 26 th of this month looks as if that would be the time to meet a few fellow Karters and just maybe learn a little about the Victa 125cc as they did race them out here in the early sixties maybe i can learn a few hot up tricks and get the Mini movin' and a groovin'

Re: Mc Bob's Deltek Mini Bike
Allan that would look great sitting in my Deltek Gran Prix with sidecar Mini Bike, have you anymore details on the Victa.
I may just build a couple of adaptors to suit a Tillerton or a BDC carby and run a pipe like you have in the photo, any idea what the fellas did internally or ignition wise as i see the flywheel is either a very very early type or has been modded

Re: Mc Bob's Deltek Mini Bike
Hi Bob,
That's OK about not being able to attend Newcastle.
The main Victa mods were getting rid of the large flywheel as they eventually shear off the key. One mod was to machine a taper and fit a McCulloch Flywheel or just run points, coil and battery.
Another mod was to change the piston port inlet to a reed inlet. Go Power reed blocks were popular with flatback carbs. This also allowed the edition of an extra transfer port.
Also sourcing a high comp head. Graeme Powels in Numurkah has remade some castings for a new head. It does require machining.
I should start collecting some photos..
