Re: The Big One 2008 - 4 photos sets
Tom,
Thanks for the kind words on the blue Fox. The kart is wicked fast with the traction bars and the new Vintage 820's. The carbs are 196 big bore HR's set up for alcohol.
The traction bars are a little better than the ones I had in 1965/66 on a similar Fox with GEM V-12 manifolds and HR carbs and single HL's on the bottom. At least I think they are better but 40+ years is a long time to remember.
Jeff did a good job of showing how I engineered them. They can be removed with no evidence that they were ever there.

Rob,
Thats's right and I agree with what you are doing. I didn't have enough time to have a different set of engines on the kart.
Next year I will have a real set of vintage engines like the tripple carb one on the single I ran. They will even have points and condensers like the single had and REAL VINTAGE West Bend engines had. I'll probably just add another box mount and engine to the single. The single really ran great and I had plenty of time to tune it in; thanks to your great schedule.
I will also have a perfect 1961 with dual stock West Bends (brown ones) with old Max Torque clutches, Azusa open headers, real West Bend side mounts and real vintage chain guards. The frame is done and painted, the seat is being upholstered and the chrome will be started after Quincy. The engines were in the trailer. I will even run it.
I plan to only bring real vintage stuff next year. Sorry for this year.
