Re: Fox Factory Store - May 1961
Jeff,
Thanks for posting the pictures I sent you. Bob Lapke said that they were taken in 1960 and developed in 1961.
Bob let me have his photos so I could scan them and add them to the Fox history display. There's a whole lot more photos showing 1959/60 karts, karts with engines & the outside of the building with half of a kart stuck to it. The Pictures sure brought back memories from 50 years ago; even things that I forgot were suddenly there when he first showed them to me.
The pictures are of the original Fox factory store in Janesville, Wisconsin. This is where I raced from and built my karts when running for Bob Fox. Bob was the second son of Stan Fox (Fuchs) senior. Fred is the oldest son and the only one of the brothers that is still alive. Fred is very active in the business world and about owns the aftermarket for motorcycle parts.
Quincy will be the next place where the Fox kart history display will be shown. My goal was to share some of the Fox stuff with others and to see if I could find things that I didn't have. Lapke's pictures are a good example of what is still out there if we look. I also got Paul Booth's Fox stuff to scan and Brian Espeset sent me a copy of the 1963 literature that I was missing. Paul's stuff included the 1959 exploded parts list. A lot of this new stuff will be added to the display by Quincy.
Thanks again for posting the pictures; once winter comes and I slow down I will share more.

Hi Jeff and Dick,
Bob's pics of the Fox factory store are great! The shot of the early Mak Kart is awesome!
Dick, I still have the 1961 Fox catalog that I sent for back then. It is well worn, but I treasure it.
Also Jeff, great photos of the Fantastic Four on your other post.
