The Fantastic '4'
At this years running of THE BIG ONE we once again experienced a record turn-out and with that came a record-number of outstanding machines that would be judged for the Fantastic '4' kart show.
With this many karts in attendence the judging became extremely difficult this year and many top tier entries that could easily win a show at any other venue had to be turned away. Though we are sorry that we had to overlook some entries there is a plus side to all of this. It is our hope that as the quality and the quanity of the events entries increases that the 'bar' will continually be raised and that our guests will be encouraged not discouraged to keep striving to help us preserve America's early karting heritage with many more to come of the most beautiful and memorable American made karts to ever grace a track.
After much discussion and consideration between the judges it was voted that this years winners of the coveted 'BIGGIE' in no particular order are the following Gentlemen.
Rick Raetz
1964 Dyna-King
Mc 75
Charlie Craibe
1961 Bug Scorpion
W.B. 610
Al Klusman
1959 Chennery Sprint Kart
Dual W.B. 700s
Ted Johnson
1962 Van Tech
Homelite XP-1000
Thank You to these winners for sharing their efforts with all of us and may they now enjoy the fact that they are the owner of some the finest machines that our hobby contains.

Four excellent choices.

Re: The Fantastic '4'
I don't have all the photos yet, but here are a few photos I pulled out, still looking for one of Rick Raetz's 1964 Dyna-King with MC75 and-or a photo of all 4 lined up.
...and there are more photos of the 1959 Chinnery C-Open kart over in the other post I made yesterday:

Re: The Fantastic '4'
I am imptressed with the pictures. Those are some very nice vintage karts,
On a side note I have tried to contact Ted Johnson in the past but with no avail. I would love to talk with him and others about Homelite engines.
