Mini Drag Bike Ricky McCulloch = "Too Much"

Well fellas this old fool is at it again as i have just bought a Bonanza Mini Bike which i'm certain is of a similier type that was used to build Ricky's "Too Much " Drag Bike.

I'd luv to build a replica of this Mini Bike.

The start of a few questions when i read a previous Ebay sale of Ricky's mini bike it said it used Burco clutches would anyone know what sort of or model of clutch these were ?

Does anyone have any better photo's showing details of Ricky's Mini Bike ?

I built a minibike with a 101. I took it apart BEFORE I took all the skin off my body.

This although it is not a saw project will fill in a little idle time over summer and hopefully be a project that will involve my Son David ( I have intentions of turning his fair hair snowy white ) plus he's getting to the age of being strong enough and keen enough to run my hotsaws.

And i need to quiten him down a little.

If I built another I would just put a simgle 7/8" Tillitson carb on it.

Back in 65 or so, a buddy of mine, put a Parilla BA13 on a mini bike for his son. It only took the youngster about 30 minutes to break his arm. Mom didn't talk to Dad for about six months. O' Well...

When I was working at Fox we put a stock 820 West Bend on a mini-bike with a twist grip throttle and torque converter. I took it for a test ride down a gravel lane and twisted the throttle wide open; needless to say the bike went over backwards and I got 10 stitches in my right elbo. We decided that that set-up was a little much for a production model.

We introduced an off road bike with a longer wheelbase and a 5 horsepower engine and torque converter in about 1970 and it had enough performance for almost anyone.

Randy a 100cc Mac with a small single carb is fun on a bike. I have one with a 91 Mac I'm selling because I don't go the SCCA races anymore and it was my pit bike.

Very tempting. The Lil' Indian was the first mini-bike manufacturer I can recall seeing an ad from (had to have been in a 60's car magazine).

I just picked up a couple more R1 chassis' and parts, so I'd be in (deep) hot water if I bought that in the same week. If you don't sell it at TBO, I might be able to slip it into the basement unnoticed...

Just so the Bender boys don't feel left out, here is SCARY dual West Bend 820 mini. It was built up by a guy by the name of Jack Spitler. Jack won the Hoffco Grand Prix way back in the day.
