I'm still in the midst of restoring a 1974 Concept. A couple of questions concerning it's structure:
1) Welds are cracked at the rear horizontal crossmember. I'm guessing, a result of frame flexing at that area? Should extra weld be built up at those two joints to strengthen it?
2) What kind of bushing should be used at the rear of the frame where it clamps onto the bumper (horizontal frame end). I believe this is the area that twisting and flexing is transmitted from the wheels and into the rear portion of the kart frame.
Thanks

Re: Weld Joints On Margay Concept
Just had mine out 2 weeks ago for my Niece nad Nephew to play with.
Clamps from main frame to rear rumper should have about 1/8" thick hose around tube where it is clamped.
Tapered bushings from the rear bumper to the side motor mount are off a car shock. I think someone said a Nova but I bet any good old guy at NAPA can set you straight if you take him an old one.
