This is a great piece of history from 1963, but if you decide to actually try these McCulloch recommendations, do so at your own risk!

I remember trying different solvents and fluids.. making notes... Blowing engines and modifying carbs... Then a friend went out and bought a quart of "Missle Mist" model airplane fuel, added it to 5 gallons of alky... Won 2 WKA National Events, in that year, after he switched to this fuel... Gotta love it...

Rick, we also used model airplane fuel to add to alky, just for a little while. Fox fuels, including Missle Mist were nothing more than alky with a percentage of nitro along with blenders and lube. Even back then it wasn't an economical way to go! We owned a hobby shop, and that helped with the costs, but we began blending our own fuels, even for the models. P.S. Roasted a couple Macs on Kartane.... TJ

Takes a lotta heat to turn that tough old mac paint orange! Of course, our engines didn't have much yellow left on them. Pop's carburetor cleaner bucket saw to that! TJ

I liked model fuel.
Simple, quick..........

I used a gallon of 40% nitro, cut with 4 gallons of menthonal.
Never blew an engine on it.

Never seen a color change, but we don't let him drive home !

"Friends don't let friends drive drunk"

Jeeze, I remember doing pace laps at Blackhawk back in the '60s,
and trying to not breath the fumes off the other karts in front of me,
and thinking how easy it was going to be to miss the first turn,
because me eyes were burning so bad, I couldn't see.........
