Crank adapters for those useless tapered 4 strokes

Just a note about something I’ve run across on Bay, apparently they make a taper to one inch adapter for Tapered pressure washer/generator cranks for those of you looking to build a yard kart for your Lil Racer or Grandbabies and have varied small engine involvement or even in the business.
They also make the 7/8” to 1” sleeve adapter for engines that are 7/8” straight shaft gas engines.
Comet and Noram made some fine 1” bore clutches for 41 or 35 pitch drive chains.
Consignment Auctions are a great source for these kind of engines on pressure washers that are often there because the pump went south or they didn’t drain the water and it froze.
The last I recall a dozen years ago the pressure washers that showed up without hoses or a “broken recoil“ at the Consign Auction were going for less than $10. I’d stay away from the Chinese-unmarked or unbranded engine and stick with the Briggs, Tecumseh, Honda etc. and other non-3rd world makes.
We, many of us knew about the crank adapters some used to convert stub cranks on old Mac saw motors that extended the 5/8” crank allowing the use of a simple 4 cycle clutch for just goofing about.
But if you’re stuck with a motor that’s tapered, maybe now you can make something of it. My filtered search only brought up a couple, but know some research might find you something cheaper elsewhere.
This eBay search is lowest first, U S seller only. Both shown have best offer option.
