Anybody who in the past has attended THE BIG ONE most likely knows of the Sullivan family. John Sullivan together with his son Jack , his son Jack Jr. and their uncle Terry are the definition of class gentlemen and for years they have fielded some super nice award winning karts and showed their driving skills out on the track.

Just got word this morning that Jack Jr. is over in England at Brands Hatch for the Formula Ford Festival.

Wishing Jack the best of luck in todays event.

Thanks for the post!

Jack ultimately finished 9th in the Grand Finale running against Formula Ford drivers from all over the world.
Several heats were run on Saturday and Sunday with the top finishers progressing to the Grand Finale.
Finishing in the top 10 is an achievement!
He will remain in the UK for anther championship event November 4-5 at famed Silverstone Raceway.
I will get off the couch and join his dad to watch that one in person.
Some of you may remember Jack from previous years at TBO. Note the green pedal for go and the red for stop!

Just read where Jack suffered a 'mechanical' while moving up the ladder putting a end to his day.

Yeah, his car came back to the pits on a truck twice on the weekend.
First, a leaking radiator that filled the cockpit with steam.
Then, he was up to fourth in his semi final when the engine quit. That knocked him out for the weekend.
This was not Jack's personal car, but one provided by the Team USA Scholarship that he won.

I write this as I'm waiting for my flight home. Glad to get out of the 'land of roundabouts'.
Can't count the number of U Turns I made this past week.

Terry,

Hope you guys have a good flight home.

Seen this interview with Jack on Saturday.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL1CJB_TwgE&t=2038s Go to the 33:55 mark.

Maybe if Jack's father, Jack Sr. was able to work on the car the results would have been different.

His dad is Jeff Sullivan, son of my brother Jon and therefor, my great nephew.
Jeff and I were in the pits most of the time watching the preparation and it was a bit frustrating not to be able to help.
The mechanics worked well together and the team owner got his hands dirty too.
There were 3 other cars being supported. Just the luck of the draw that Jack's had the problems I guess.
The competition was fierce for the 'Walter Hayes Trophy' event. One driver, Joey Foster, has won the event 4 times!
Here is an example of the weather we saw.

Guess I owe Jeff a apology. My mistake, sorry.

Terry, If you have any other pictures of the trip please feel free to share them.

Team USA at the end of the day. Jack (wearing a beanie) smiling even though he was dealt a crushing mechanical DNF.
