We had our first planning meeting yesterday for the Brodhead Historics event and a big focus for this event is the historic and rear classes. We would love to see a huge turnout of rear engine karts. The historic class is for 64 and older karts and this class is a non scored class - no actual racing. We throw the green flag and then the checkered flags but everything in between is just for fun. We have Thursday all day for practice, Friday morning practice and then a drivers meeting before races start in the afternoon. 2 races Friday and then after that, kart show on the front straight with beer wine and cheese tasting before our big dinner. Saturday is practice in the morning and feature races after that.

We have special request from the organizers as well. As many of you know we lost track owner and vintage karter, Marshall Fairman last year. Marshall’s dad built the track and the Blackhawk line of karts. In honor of the Fairman family, we would really like to have as many of the Blackhawk karts in attendance as possible. We have had a good turnout in the past but we want this year to be the most Blackhawks at the track since they were lined up in the basement. Any year, any condition. Please consider bringing them out.

We’ll have more details as we get closer as well. Thanks!

Mike,

Thanks for posting this. It is my hope to make it over this summer. We appreciate the support you and your family have given us at TBO so the least I can do is try to return the favor.

Please keep us updated as the event gets closer.

Bob Kurkowski.
