Chaparral frame

Post by Jeremy Pope » Fri Nov 12, 2021 3:59 pm

I just got this Chaparral frame. Is there any way to tell the year of this frame and if it is a Rupp or Robron?

I'm sure some Rupp freak will probably jump my chit but, not real sure If the Chaparral ever changed design wise since its original debut however you kart appears to have a disc brake master cylinder mount on it so it may be one of the later years kart.

Rupp or Robron ? Not sure Robron made a whole lot of Chaparrals. Your kart has the dreaded home brewed front axle stiffeners which were a popular non factory add on that some put on their kart back in the day.

Don't worry to much about the particulars, just get it running and enjoy it.

Those front axle stiffeners DO inhibit frame flex some. Not too important on a Dart, but I once put them on my Go Kart 800 after bending the front axle a little. Darn kart slid like a Bug or a Dart! Almost ruined it. I gave it to my Pop and got a new 1200... :( Ted
