Airheart replacements?

Post by ted johnson » Thu Mar 04, 2021 9:48 am

We have switched completely from the Airheart 150 to the small Wilwood caliper. It is smoother, stronger and far easier to rebuild than the Airheart. It also looks very good. I see that Wilwood also makes a 1.75 diameter puck caliper for micros and the like. It fits the same mount holes as the Airheart 175. What I want to know is if the horizontal distance from mount bolt hole centerlines to the center of the puck on the Airheart 175 is the same as the Wilwood. Here's the website that shows the Wilwood 175 mount dimensions. Can someone please measure a 176 Airheart to see if the measurement is the same?

If it is, then the Wilwood would be THE BRAKE for a dual vintage kart. Wilwood brakes work super, and they're smooth and simple to rebuild. The housing also does not look like a brick, as do our other choices in brake calipers. The Wilwood 570 high temp fluid is also great. The latest MCP master cylinder has seals that handle the 570 fluid. The MCP master is a bolt-on replacement. Ted
