Well,
My first vintage kart restoration was a 1961 McCulloch R1 which I sold a long time ago, now I have done it again with another R1. This time I pretty much went all out with mostly original restored parts and a couple upgrades including a 5/8" splined steering shaft and a 1/4" wide brake disc using the original caliper spaced to accommodate the wider disc.
Power is coming from a matched pair of stroked Mc10 engines with NOS blocks and cranks and updated mac rods. Intakes are Palmini with pyramid reeds, small gas flatbacks with exhaust handled thru a couple of custom header/mufflers Sam put together for me. Engines are now 5.8cu in and should perform as good or better than a pair of stock Mc20's.
I am excited to try her out which will happen next week on the 15th at Avon. I will also be bringing her to the Avon Vintage event on the 23rd.
Just thought it would be appreciated on this site, a true vintage machine.

Very pretty, Scott. A good set of 5.8 Mc10's should easily put a hurtin' on twin Mc20's. You're a real artist! Ted
P.S. You're gonna make a mess of the inside of those head shrouds!

Re: My Latest Restoration
Great job as always. I bought a new one with a pair of 20's. I only had it for about a month.

Scott,
Beautiful job. I have one that I plan to restore and I will need new upholstery.
Yours looks new.... did you have new made for it?
If so, I would like to get the source to see if I could get a set.
Regards,
Steve O'Hara
