Alan if you decide to go in a different direction and want to sell the Precision rear wheels I would be interested.

Dean, thanks for your interest in the wheels. Actually I'd like to find one more to replace one that I repaired. Any ideas on the clutch brand?

Alan,

Clutch appears to be a Burco. Personally a good performer but depending on what your going to do with the kart, if you don't want to maintain it its more trouble then its worth.

Alan, for running at AZ vintage events, a Horstman Rev Grip dry clutch, or one of the latest dry Max Torque units are best. No issues. Just mount, keep the bushing or needle bearing lubed, and go. Ted

It's not a Burco. Hard to tell from the pictures. From the 8 bolts (Burco's have 6) It's probably a Horstman rev grip oil conversion or a slip-adjust or some other version as they had a bunch. Pull the cover & lets see the guts & we will know.

The muffler is a similar to the McCulloch "VolumeTuned" pipe they offered in the mid to late 60s but the stinger is in the wrong place. The clutch is early Hartman that has been modified to use a plug in starter type nut. Most likely will have aluminum arms with riveted on hard linings for the shoes and a part cast aluminum/part steel hub inside. Can't tell for sure unless the billet cover is removed to see inside.

While sitting on the.....ahh...ahhh.... I mean while at the library the other day I was flipping through the pages of a newspaper style July/August 1968 issue of Karting World and I came across this ad.

Looks to be the pipe in question.
