Rupp Grand Prix

It is great to see a rear engine kart bring 8700.00 on BAT.

I have seen the restorers posts on the forums and Facebook and followed his progress.

A very honest guy who did a beautiful restoration. He mentioned serious rust pitting issues to the rear frame rails. He filled them with putty with the intention the kart never operate at track speed.

He decided to sell his pride and joy to a interested buyer.

Fast forward and he sees it shortly thereafter for sale on BAT. Watches it sell for 8700.00 with no disclosure from the "Flipper"
of the rust issues.

How would any of you like this machine next to you or your kids and split apart and hurt someone.

I read sellers initials are JJ.

Beware

Ted,

Sure wish I did not have to give anyone "hell"?

Zollie was honest enough and it should not be lost to us on the track with this kart in the future. He sure did a nice job!

Be careful if you see it next to you at track speeds.

Greedy sellers with no regard ??

Dean, Teddy,

Can one of you give us a comprehensive explanation of what happened here ?

If there's a disreputable person in our hobby please let everyone know the details so no else is taken advantage of in the future.

Remember that old saying going way back to the beginning ...... "be very careful"

Bob, Heck, man, I don't even know what BAT is! I just enjoy Dean and his sense of justice. Puts me in memory of Riverside 2016! Dean rightly had a bit of righteous indignation at that event. He's the best. Ted

Thanks to everybody who replied.

Cannot say for sure but perhaps a detail or two were left out in the description that the buying public will never know about and that happens all the time and is one of the down sides of auctions however when you view the price paid it goes without saying that auctions are a amazing thing.

Bottomline is like stated earlier 'be very careful'

A lot of the buyers who have bought karts on Bring a Trailer are not close to being experts and count on the commenters to help them sort out the details.
